Hi; I’m Rachael and welcome to Beau Baby.
When you search for ‘cake smash’, Norwich can give you lots of options. I have a somewhat different style to the usual bright coloured sets and embrace a beautifully simple approach.
It’s through bleary eyes and sleepless nights you’ve gone from having a teeny tiny newborn. Through weaning, crawling, sitting and so many other ‘firsts’ and now here you are with a (nearly) one year old!
It’s my job to make sure that this major milestone is captured in the most authentic way, really capturing your babies personality.

My son recently had a cake smash with Rachael and although he was reluctant and got upset she was great, encouraged him to try the cake and get his hands in it, he loved smashing it with the wooden spoon! We absolutely love the photographs and no one would know how upset he really got

GORGEOUS
Absolutely gorgeous photos from Rachael for our sons first birthday cake smash. I love all of them. It is going to be hard to chose the ones to put on wall. I would highly recommend her. SIMPLE CAKE SMASH
The beauty of the simple cake smash is that nothing overshadows your baby.
A pure white studio, stunning mini tiered ‘naked’ style cake and simple balloons means that in every photo your baby takes centre stage.
And the simple white vest means that you can relax knowing there’ll be no wardrobe malfunctions!
We’ll capture details of them playing happily with the white ballons and gorgeous wooden toys and scooping icing from the cake. Prepare to get involved here and enjoy this sensory exprience with your baby.
So the whole session is aimed at having fun!
Then the session ends with a warm bubble bath in my beautiful white mini roll top bath, and snuggles in a fluffy white towel for extra cuteness factor. One of my most precious shots is of you together, snuggling closely. We do this either at the beginning before the fun or at the end whilst baby is wrapped up after their bath.
The aim in this session is to capture photos of your baby playing; seeing them smile, laugh and have fun.
It’s such a beautiful way to celebrate your baby turning one!

Rachael was always professional and responsive with any queries or questions that I had! Her studio is beautiful and technique is one of kind which is one of the reasons I choose her for this special occasion! She was amazing with my daughter.

Do you provide the cake?
I can provide a cake for an additional £25
I have a great relationship with a local baker who makes your cake, fresh in their shop. I collect this the morning of your session. So not only is your cake the perfect size and in keeping with my style, it also tastes delicious!
Can you cater for allergies?
Yep – no problem. If there re allergies to take in to consideration I just ask that you book as far ahead as you can so that my baker has plenty of time to make sure your cake is perfect!
Can older siblings come along?
They can, and its a lovely opportunity for a few family photos. However….
In my experience older siblings can find it a bit tricky to let the little one have the limelight, and I’m sure you’d rather be enjoying the birthday celebration than fighting a tantruming toddler.
So just have a think through whats best for you – but yes, you can bring them!
What's involved?
Cake Smash sessions are really a little misnamed for the way I run them.
Of course there’s a cake and it is likely to get smashed, but it’s so much more than that!
There’s family photos, some playing, the cake, a roll top bath and snuggle time.
How far ahead shoud I book?
It’s best to book a few motnhs in advance. I can make sure the baker has availability and you get a decent choice of my session days.
