When it comes to choosing a photographer to take your newborn photos, you have a lot of choice! There are seemingly hundreds of photographers and you’d be forgiven for thinking we all do the same thing.

When you’re faced with so many options it can be overwhelming to know which photographer is the best choice for you. There are a few key things to look at to see whether someone is a good fit for you.

I’d always recommend checking out a photographers website, rather than just their social media. Don’t get me wrong, social media pages are a fantastic way of seeing a high volume of a photographers work. You can see the consistency between the photos and you may get a broader picture of the variety of photos you can expect within your own gallery. But, a website is the bit that, in my opinion, gives you an insight in to the person who will be taking your photos. You should get a feel for who your photographer is from looking at their website.

To avoid being disappointed, either with your photos or with the experience, its worth making sure that you like the person who will be taking them, because ultimately that’s how you’ll get the best, most natural, photos.

Am I right for you?

Now that depends! If you’ve had a look through my website then you have probably picked up on the fact that I am all about close contact and really authentic connection during sessions. Photos that I take are really personal. They are for you. They are the ones that you will look back on when your babies are grown and you’ll remember all of the perfectly imperfect details about having small children. You may also have noticed that my styling is very simple. The only colour that features in my photos is skin tone. My studio is white and I request that you wear white clothing. This is because the contrast between the white and your skin tone draws all of the attention in that photo to you and your baby. You won’t find oversized head bands and props here – everything is really natural, simple and pure.

The other major difference here is that I don’t ask you to choose which photos you want to buy. It’s an almost impossible decision for any parent to choose between photos of their children, and more often than not it results in spending more than you may have planned. Not here. What you get with me is one clear price. And it includes all your photos. Simple.
